Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Azerbaijani MPs accused municipalities of the illegal sale of land during a Parliamentary session on 9 October, MP Igbal Agazadeh, the chairman of opposition party Umid, said.
"Khatai, Nizami and Narimanov District municipalities have no land. However, they sell land. Some 100 to 150 land plots were sold.
Monitoring was carried out to examine these cases. Serious plot problems were revealed in Muhammadi, Zabrat and Bilga municipalities.
The Azerbaijani State Committee on Land and Cartography holds monitoring to define the exact boundaries of municipalities.
Arif Rahimzadeh, the chairman of the permanent Parliamentary commission on regional issues, said a range of municipalities in Baku had no land plots.
"Some municipalities illegally sold their land plots," Agazadeh said.
