GUAM National Coordinators - Poland to Meet in Warsaw
Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Aghayeva / The first meetings between the GUAM Council of National Coordinators and Poland will take place in Warsaw in the second half of November. The four countries of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM ( Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) have agreed to participate in the meeting, the GUAM Secretariat reported on 27 October.
The first GUAM-Poland summit took place in New York on 27 September 2007. Azerbaijani and Polish Foreign Ministers - Elmar Mammadyarov and Anna Fotiga - were in attendance.
The prospects of cooperation in this format and improvement of publicity of the organization in Europe will be considered at the upcoming meeting. GUAM-Poland cooperation and its prospects will be discussed. The meeting will mainly focus on transport and energy issues, as well as Poland's assistance to full scale functioning of GUAM's free trade area.
