The Union put forward a proposal of partnership to Parliaments of Latvia and Lithuania and called on the Parliaments of these countries to pay more attention towards the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM, the Estonian Parliament told Trend on 15 November.

The Union of Estonian MPs offered their counterparts to establish similar unions. GUAM, which unites Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova, was reconfigured by the UN and EU as a supporter of democratization in these countries, the Estonian Parliament considered.

The Union of MPs for GUAM was established recently under the chairmanship of Evelin Sepp, the deputy chairman of the constitution commission. Sepp stresses the need for strengthening the position on the EU's cooperation with Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova and the EU envisages definite financial and invitational assistance in this respect.

At the same time, the Union for GUAM calls on the Baltic Assembly to larger solidarity to back GUAM's aspirations at the international arena.
