Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, send a congratulatory letter to the participants of XIII International Exhibition "Telecommunication and Information Technologies - 2007".
"I cordially congratulate you on opening of international exhibition and conference, welcome your efforts for establishment of information society, and wish all of you good health, long life and happiness. Dynamic development of Azerbaijan, its high economic parameters, as well as successful implementation of "Online Azerbaijan" State Program have created a favorable condition to realize the large-scale innovation projects based on high technologies. Establishment of the country's information-communication infrastructure, adoption of related legislative acts, expansion of Internet network, construction of computer producing plant, educational programs and other projects in this direction are essential steps towards promotion of high technologies. According to principles declared at Geneva Summit, today, directing the wide opportunities of energy sector to strengthening of human resources and developing of non-oil sector, we are defining perspectives of our future development strategy. I am hopeful that our country, which plays a key role in establishment of the large-scale international energy and transport corridors, will have a particular position in realization of information corridor as well. Traditional exhibitions and conferences held in Baku show once more that attaching particular importance to development of information and telecommunication technologies, which are priorities of state policy, has drawn attention of several world business circles towards Azerbaijan, a country with great potential. I am sure that regional and international cooperation of both governmental bodies and private sector will be successful, yield good results soon, and become a new stage on the way to establish information society.
