National Assembly of Georgian Azerbaijanis Threatens to Close Roads

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The National Assembly of Georgian Azerbaijanis (NAGA) will undertake radical measures in the case of propaganda or physical violence against the leader of NAGA, Dashgin Gulmammadov and Fazil Aliyev, candidate in the presidential elections, the chairman of NAGA Supreme Majilis, Mehti Musayev, said on 26 November.

"In the case of Gulmammadov and Aliyev being threatened, NAGA will close the Tbilisi-Baku and Tbilisi-Yerevan roads", Musayev said.

Musayev added that Gulmammadov and Aliyev, who nominated their candidature for the presidential post in Georgia, will return to Georgia. They crossed the border without hindrance after Georgian Constitutional Security Department officials accompanied them.

"We have been informed that the Constitutional Security Department and Security Service Department of the Georgian Internal Ministry are planning to implement propaganda in order to hinder Aliyev's pre-election campaign by order of Internal Minister Vano Merabishvili and National Security Secretary Alexander Lomay."

NAGA will guarantee stability in the Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia if the Government provides security for Gulammadov and Aliyev.
