Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. D.Khatinoglu / Official Teheran will not stop uranium enrichment in spite of Russia to transform nuclear fuel to Iran.

"Taking into consideration repeatedly violations of promises by Russia, not real to expect that Iran to stop uranium enrichment," stated chairman of the Iranian Geopolitical Association and professor of the Teheran University Ezzatollah Ezzati.

According to the Iranian IRNA agency from 17 December, Russia delivered fuel to the Iranian nuclear station Bushehr for a year for the first time.

The Russian Foreign Ministry made hint in the statement that Teheran does not need in uranium enrichment as fuel was provided to the Iranian nuclear station.

The chairman of the Nuclear organization of Iran Mehdi Aghazadeh stated on 17 December that Iran would not stop uranium enrichment plans. The fuel demand of Iran amount to 160 tons per year. Initially Russia delivered 80 tons of fuel to Iran.

Russia fulfilled its obligation by supply of nuclear fuel to Iran, said Ezzati in the interview to Trend agency on 19 December. " Russia carried out its obligation by supplying nuclear fuel to Iran. However, in its turn Russia cannot demand to stop uranium enrichment from Iran. Moscow never fulfills its promises if the issue does not meet the countries interest. Therefore, we do not believe in further cooperation of Moscow with Iran and we took decision to continue uranium enrichment. We have rights for it in compliance with the IAEA legislation.

Under the report of the United States research centre from 3 December, Iran stopped plans to produce nuclear arms in 2006.

According to Ezzati, the decision by Russia to supply nuclear fuel to Iran does not have relation to the report. "The report was in favor of Iran. However, the report did not affect on the decision of Russia to supply nuclear fuel to Iran," Ezzati said.

The UN Security Council passed two resolutions against Iran in order to stop plans on uranium enrichment. Discussions on the third resolution were postponed to 2008. The West blames Iran in producing atom arms under producing of nuclear energy in peace purposes.

"I do not believe that the third resolution may affect on nuclear plans of Iran. Sooner or later world should accept nuclear plans of Iran," Ezzati stated.
