Azerbaijan Expects Explanation from   Iran for Sepah’s Actions: Spokesman for Foreign Ministry

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Azerbaijan is waiting for the explanation from Iran in connection with activities of the Sepah, which Azerbaijan accuses, is cooperation with a criminal group functioning in its territory. " Iran should make comments in this respect," Khezer Ibrahim, the spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said in talks with journalists on 24 December.

On 10 December, a sentence was announced for the Said's Gang headed by Said Dadashbeyli, which had planned to commit a coup in Azerbaijan, but was detained in January 2007.

The Court on Hard Crimes sentenced the 14 members of the gang to a prison term varying from 2 to14 years. They were proclaimed guilty of high treason, attempted coup d'etat, the illegal custody of arms, printing and distribution of the counterfeit money, storage and the distribution of drugs.

The Azerbaijan side presented to the Iranian Ambassador, proper information on the relations of the Said' band with 'Sepah', the Iranian special service organization, Ibrahim said.
