Azerbaijan will Continue its Active Participation in Anti-terror Coalition: Defense Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 January / corr Trend E.Huseynli / Azerbaijan will continue its active participation in the global anti-terror coalition.

"In future, the cooperation with the United States will be a prior issue for Azerbaijan, in connection with the global participation in the anti-terror coalition," Colonel General Safar Abiyev, the Azerbaijani Defense Minister said on 11 January, while receiving a delegation led by Bill Shuster, the co-chair of the Working Group on Azerbaijan of the US Congress House of Representatives.

Azerbaijan is a member of the international anti-terror coalition, since 2001. The Azerbaijani National Army has its peacekeepers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Washington has repeatedly stated on the Azerbaijan's active participation in the international anti-terror coalition.

The Azerbaijani - US friendly relations are developing and the countries have achieved the positive results in the military cooperation. During the meeting, they held a comprehensive exchange of opinion on the occupation of 20% of the Azerbaijan's territory and the unsettlement of the conflict due to the destructive position of the occupant-country - Armenia.

Supporting the Azerbaijan's position, the guests noted that the United States recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
