Iran to Play Active Role in Azerbaijan’ Development Projects – Foreign Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 February / Тrend corr. K. Ramazanova / Iran is ready to play an active role in the projects on development in Azerbaijan, the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said at a meeting with the Azerbaijani Defence Minister Safar Abiyev on 19 February. The meeting took place during the Azerbaijani Defence Minister's official visit to Teheran, IRNA reported.

" Iran fraternally treats Azerbaijanis and regards progress in Azerbaijan as its own," Mottaki stressed.

As for the both people's historical and cultural commonalities, Mottaki said that the two sides officials are determined to bolster and broaden all-out political and economic cooperation.

Mottaki voiced Iran's readiness to attend the upcoming conference on 'Security of the Caspian Sea' in Baku.

The Azerbaijani Defence Minister said Baku hopes the current level of relations between the two countries would be further developed and bolstered.
