Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 February /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) require political organizations functioning in the Country to undergo State re-registration.
"Establishing a party in Azerbaijan has transformed into speculation in which someone sells a party and another buys it. A new law draft on political parties should be adopted to put an end to this issue," said the Deputy Executive Secretary of the NAP, MP Siyavush Novruzov, at the meeting of Azerbaijan Parliament on 22 February.
The Law on Political Parties was adopted in Azerbaijan in 1992.
According to Novruzov, the law should be attached items corresponding to contemporary demands. "After the parties have undergone State re-registration, they are permitted to nominate their candidates for presidency. Several politicians have highlighted the establishment of a bloc comprised of 20 parties to participate in the elections. However only the chairmen are represented in these parties," he added.
