Time Limit Imposed on Entertainment Centres in Azerbaijan’s Ganja City
Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 February / Trend corr. V.Mammadov / The Police Department in Ganja City of Azerbaijan made a decision to close bars and discos at midnight. The department reported to Trend that this decision was taken in order to prevent criminal behaviour in the city.
There are five bars and discos in Ganja.
In 2007, 438 crimes were committed. The Human Right departments reported 401 crimes. Seventy-four crimes were classed as serious, 224 less severe and 140 were connected with violation of public security.
According to the information, the Department holds daily raids in order to prevent bras and discos staying open past midnight.
Ganja City is located 365km west of Baku.
