Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 February /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / "Not the essence of Kosovo's independence, but the form of achieving this independence may be precedent for other multinational countries," mentioned by the joint statement of the Green Party of Georgia and Green Party of Azerbaijan.

According to the Greens, the events in Kosovo once again confirmed that the Big States may develop separatist mood in any country- which may complete with the declaration of its independence. "We, as Greens, are concerned by the way of declaring this independence, which was trailed by the intense ethnic conflicts. Such form which corresponds with the geo-political and economic interests of the States with imperialist intentions may be precedent in other regions in future," the statement says.

According to the green parties, the essence of the problem is that after intense ethnic conflicts, all bridges of reconciliation and co-existence is destroyed between the Albanians and Serbians who resided in a peaceful manner for hundreds of years. The conflict between Kosovo and Serbia became irreversible, after NATO began bombing Serbia. After the active interference of the USA, the problem transformed into an ethnic conflict.

The Green parties consider that fomentation of the conflicts and their transformations into ethnic problems have created 'favorable conditions' for separatism, excluding any alternative ways of peaceful co-existence and intrusion of independence.

The Greens of Georgia and Azerbaijan regret that Kosovo's independence was also the culmination of absence of other alternatives, excluding independence intruded by the Albanians. "We, as greens, are concerned by such political and military governance mechanism which may become a contemporary method for neocolonialism, and serves as precedent in other regions and presents threats for the whole world," the statement says.

The greens consider that today all the countries, including Georgia and Azerbaijan, who became victims of separatism, should be very attentive- in order not to avoid any conditions for the transformation of any internal conflicts into ethnic level.
