Czech Republic to Pay Special Attention to Develop Relations with South Caucasus: Chairman of Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee

Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 March /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Czech Republic who will chair the Council of Europe from the first half year of 2009 will pay special attention to the development of relations with the countries of South Caucasus during its term of chairmanship. "This is because South Caucasus is considered an important region not only for the Czech Republic, but also the whole Council of Europe. The co-operation between South Caucasus and Czech Republic is one of the important directions of Prague," the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Parliament of Czech Republic, Yan Hamachek , who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, briefed the media on 3 March.

According to him, Azerbaijan and Czech Republic possess similar experiences. It provides grounds to expand relations between the two countries. "We attempt to further develop relations between Czech Republic and Azerbaijan not only at a parliamentary level, but also in all spheres," Hamachek  said.
