G.Jabiyev / The opposition Azadlig bloc may participate in the upcoming presidential elections, even if, no changes are made in the composition of election commissions and formation of the parity, Ali Karimli, chairman of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), stated.
PFPA, Liberal and Citizen and Development parties, which are united in Azadlig, stated to boycott the upcoming elections if no changes are made in the composition of election commissions and no democratic atmosphere is provided, as well as if the candidates are not allowed to freely express their views on television.
Karimli stated about the conditions in which the bloc may participate in the elections. "An air time may be allocated for the pre-election campaign of candidates from the opposition. In such cases, we can make some compromises. If there will not be any limits to freedom of assembly, we can reconsider our decision about the participation in elections," Karimli said.
The Authorities may not sanction rallies in areas important for the Government.
