Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 March/ corr. Trend S. Agayeva/ The political and social aspects in the development of Azerbaijan will be discussed on 4 April in Moscow during the conference Azerbaijan-2008: Breakthrough.
"Our goal is to begin intellectual discussions with Russia on the contemporary development of Azerbaijan, and to discuss forming the framework of regional security," Elnur Aslanov, one of the participants of the Conference and the Head of the Political Analysis and Dataware Department of the Presidential Administration said to Trend on 31 March.
The process of general democratization in post-soviet times and the perspectives of Azerbaijan-Russia cooperation will be discussed and the further climate of the geo-political arrangements in South Caucasus will be analyzed, Aslanov said. " Azerbaijan has been one of the leaders in the region for its economic growth rates in the post-soviet times for the last few years. Therefore, discussions on the conception of national and economic development and the aspects of the contemporary development of Azerbaijan are of great importance," he said.
The Conference is initiated by the Center of Carnegie of Moscow together with Center for Strategic Studies under the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan will be represented by Elkhan Nuriyev, the Head of the Center for Strategic Studies, Ilgar Huseynov, the director general of Trend Company, Rashad Rzaguliyev, the Head of the Fund of Social Developments and Fariz Ismayilzade, the Department Head of Diplomatic Academy of Azerbaijan.
Russia will be represented by well-known politicians, economist and social science experts.
According to Aslanov, a similar conference is scheduled to be held in a number of European countries as well.
