G.Jabiyev / The issue on the expansion of the Consultative Assembly (CA) of pro-governmental parties will be discussed during the next meeting, Mammad Alizadeh, a member of CA and chairman of Democratic World of Azerbaijan party (DWAP), stated to Trend on 1 April.
CA was established to support the pre-election campaign of Heydar Aliyev in 2003. YAP, Ana Vatan, Social Welfare, Democratic Enlightenment, Republicans, Democratic World of Azerbaijan, National Statehood parties and For Azerbaijan bloc are represented in the structure. Mammad Alizadeh, leader of Democratic World of Azerbaijan, was chairman of the organization.
According to Alizadeh, expansion of CA is quite important. "Most of the 50 parties, which passed the state registration have respect for President Ilham Aliyev. Today, these parties are separated and remain in the opposition. The issue of the Vahdat party joining the Assembly is expected to be considered during the meeting. Other parties will also be accepted to the Assembly and their names will be announced soon," Alizadeh said.
