Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 April /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / Yaver Jamalov, Azerbaijani Minister of Defence Industry, discussed the issues of military-technical co-operation between Azerbaijan and Jordan with the King and Prime Minister of this country in Amman, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Jordan, Elman Arasli, reported to Trend by telephone from Amman on 2 April.
The meetings with Abdullah II and Nadir Dahabani focused on the co-operation prospects of the two countries in establishing developed military industry in Azerbaijan, training specialists in this sphere, the Ambassador stated.
According to Arasli, King Abdullah II highlighted the interest of Jordan in developing co-operation with Azerbaijan and the necessity of activating all efforts required for this.
The Ministry of Defence Industry was established in Azerbaijan two years ago. Today, there is a necessity of real actions for the co-operation of Ministry's efforts with the defence structures of other countries, which have the experience in forming military-industry complex. Jordan's experience may be very useful for Azerbaijan, independent experts say.
The delegation of Azerbaijan, including Deputy Defence Minister Chingiz Mammadov, participates in SOFEX 2008 exhibition-conference. SOFEX, which is the premier international exhibition and conference which features the largest fully-integrated Special Operations Forces equipment and solutions in the world, will take place in Jordan's capital from 31 March to 3 April.
