Azerbaijani National Security Ministry Detained Baku Resident

Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 April / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The National Security Ministry of Azerbaijan detained the resident of Baku, who pretended to be an official of the Ministry.

The Centre on Public Relations of the Ministry stated on 25 April that Bahshish Ardashir Yusifali, the resident of Baku, who was previously accused of fraud and robbery and repeatedly sentenced to imprisonment, again pretended to be an official of Ministry and was also engaged in fraud.

Yusifali pretended himself as a colonel Adil Bakhshaliyev, lied to people and promised to appoint people at different state departments and misappropriated their properties.

In spring 2005, Yusifali met with Anar Shirinov and his father Sadagat Shirinov with the mediation of Agakarim Mirzoyev, and promised to appoint Anar to the Ministry and misappropriated $12,000.

Yusifali met with A.Shirinov and held psychological tests for staff preparations and commissioned to develop documents to accept Anar to work in the Ministry.

Yusifali demanded $5,000 from A.Shirinov's uncle, Elbrus Shirinov, in order to appoint him at the Ministry. Furthermore, Yusifali agreed with A.Shirinov's family that he would take additional $7,000 soon after he would appoint him at some post in the Ministry.

A criminal case has been filed over the corruption charges (Article 178.2.4), as well as with Article310 (misappropriation of power of state official) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry requested the citizens, who had suffered from illegal actions of Yusifali, to make appeals against him in the Ministry.
