US International Institute of Republicans to Hold Trainings on Election Campaigns in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 may / Trend corr. E.Babayev / The US International Institute of Republicans (IIR) will hold trainings regarding the election campaign of political parties in Azerbaijan, Sardar Jalaloglu, a candidate to the presidential post from the Democratic party of Azerbaijan (DPA) and chairman of the organization, stated after the meeting with Michel Dunkaman, the program Director of IIR on South Caucasus, and Jake Chance, Director of IIR on the country.

The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held in October 2008.

Jalaloglu stated that the trainings give the information about the election campaigns in other countries. Furthermore, IIR jointly with parties implements Leadership Program for young members of the parties.

Michel Dunkaman and Chance met with Mubariz Gurbanli, Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, on 15 May. According to the information released by NAP, the key topic of the meeting was trainings in Azerbaijan.
