Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 May / Trend corr. I.Alizade / The Azerbaijani opposition MPs consider that the Baku Executive Power violates the citizens' right to Freedom of Assembly. "Parliament should take some measures to settle this problem," Arzu Samadbayli, a member of the Musavat MP Group, stated in the parliamentary session.

Samadbayli said that the Executive Power of Baku rejected every appeal by the Azerbaijani opposition to stage the rallies. "The rejections by the Baku Executive Power violate the Constitution of the country," Samadbayli stated.

MP Fazail Agamali, Chairman of the pro-oppositional Great Establishment party, stated that the party appealed to Baku executive Power to sanction the rally before the State Committee on State Property Management. "Baku Executive Power recommended us to appeal the Committee in order to stage a rally in front of its building. Can a rally with of 50 people pose a threat?" Agamali said.

MP Siyavush Novruzov, Deputy Executive Secretary, stated that the statements by the opposition MPs concerning limits of freedom of assembly in the country are groundless. "Baku Executive Power allocated the area to stage a rally in Bibi Eybat," MP said.
