Turkey, Kars, 24 July / Trend , corr A. Aliyev/ The president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got familiar with the construction of the building of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Kars.
The Consul General of Azerbaijan Hasan Zeynalov informed the head of state of the plans of construction of the two-storey building. The construction began in 2007 and it will end soon, he said.
The Consulate General, which is functioning since 2004 and covers 17 Turkish provinces, at present, is housed by the rented premise.
The Azerbaijani President also got familiar with activities of Heydar Aliyev Center functioning at Caucasus University of Kars. The life and activities of nation-wide leader of Azerbaijan is studied in this Center.
Caucasus University of Kars is only education institution in Turkey which teaches Azerbaijani language and literature.
Ilham Aliyev visited Kars to take part in the founding ceremony of the Turkish section of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
