Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 August / Trend , corr. S.Kazimli / Azerbaijan State Border Service runs medium security at the Georgian border due to the South Ossetia conflict.
"The organization strengthened guarding at the Georgian borders," the State Border said to Trend on 11 August.
Large-scale military operations commenced in the unrecognized South Ossetia republic in the early morning of 8 August. Georgian Army was reported to enter Tskhinvali on 9 August. Official Tbilisi says the events are Restoration of the Constitution Regime. The unrecognized South Ossetia wants assistance from Russia. Mobilization of reserved soldiers was announced in Georgia on 10 August.
According to Russian media, there are dead and wounded amongst Russian peacekeepers. Over 2,000 servicemen and civilians died on both sides. The Russian Air Forces intensively bombed Marneuli and Bolnisi cities of Georgia and military bases near Tbilisi.
The Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili announced a war against Russia on 9 August.
The Azerbaijani State Border increased the number of soldiers to prevent illegal border crossing by the Georgian people.
