Tajikistan to Host Women Parliamentarians’ International Conference

Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 September / Trend corr. I.Alizade/ The problems of women living in Central Asia will be discussed at the women parliamentarians' international conference to take place in Dushanbe.

"The conference will discuss the role of women parliamentarians in settlement of social problems," Azerbaijani MP Zhala Aliyeva said to Trend on 1 September.

According to Aliyeva, the conference will take place on 2-4 September. Representatives of international organizations, including those of different UN structures, will participate in the event.

The conference will discuss social policy and legislation, women's and girl's education, reproductive health, the significance of family planning and gender budget.

"The significance of the conference is great. It will play a role in settlement of women's problems," Aliyeva said.

MPs Zhala Aliyeva and Havva Mammadova will represent Azerbaijan at the event.
