Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 September / Trend corr. J.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani Union of Intelligentsia removed the problem with headquarters.
"Union members continue keeping the headquarters at their own expenses," Eldaniz Guliyev, Chairman of the Union, told Trend .
In the end of July, Union planned to leave the headquarters due to financial strait and to function in apartment of one of the members from the Union temporarily.
According to Guliyev, the "Progress of Azerbaijani culture" project, developed by the Union, won in the competition held by the Council for state support to NGOs attached to the Azerbaijani President. This success solved the issue temporarily.
Azerbaijani Movement of Intelligentsia was established in 2003. In 2007, the origination held the state registration in the Justice Ministry under the name of Azerbaijani Union of Intelligentsia. Union's goal is to protect the rights of intelligentsia, as well as to reconcile the authorities with opposition.
