Kazakhstan’s Azerbaijanis Take Active Part in Voting for Azerbaijan’s Presidential Elections

Kazakhstan, Astana, 15 October / Trend corr. K.Konirova/ About 25% of Azerbaijanis living in Kazakhstan voted for the presidential elections in Azerbaijan.   

"Over 70 Azerbaijani citizens, with a total of 300 living in Kazakhstan, have voted," Hatam Hasanov, chairman of the voting station in Astana, said to Trend on 15 October.

There are 2 voting stations in Kazakhstan - one at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Astana and the other at the Consulate General in Aktau. The stations opened at 8:00am, local time.

Seven international observers have been present at the Astana voting station from 7.30am. They checked availability of all things required for voting.

Voting in Aktau is taking place the same way.

Seven candidates take part in the elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
