Elections in Azerbaijan Very Active: CIS Executive Committee’s Secretary

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 October / Trend corr. N.Abdullayeva/ Presidential elections in Azerbaijan are very active, Sergei Lebedev, Secretary of the CIS Executive Committee and the head of the CIS observation mission for the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, said to journalists in Baku on 15 October.

"I talked to electors and observers. All positively estimate the process. Electors are in festive mood. We have not heard any critical remarks. There even were queues at several polling stations, which proves activity of the voters," said Lebedev.

According to head of the CIS observation mission, elections run in a positive and active.

Presidential elections take place in Azerbaijan today. Seven candidates take part in the elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
