Exit-Poll Says Ilham Aliyev Passes Ahead of His Rivals by Majority: FTFEC

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 October / Trend , corr. Sh.Cavadsoy/ Free, Transparent and Fair Election Coalition (FTFEC) disclosed initial results of exit-poll during the Presidential elections in Azerbaijan. The vote percentages gained by the candidates seem to be as:

Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party - 85.7%; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party - 3.5%; independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli - 3.1%; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party - 2.7%; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party - 2.5%; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party - 1.4%; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party - 0.8%;

According to the initial results, 50,000 ballot papers were used, with 197 papers (0.3% being considered invalid)

Eldar Ismaylov, one of representatives of FTFEC, director of Independent Consultation and Assistance Center for Civil Society, expressed the initial results to Trend .

Five NGOs, Independent Consultation and Assistance Center for Civil Society, Democratic Elections Center, Intellekt Studies Center, Political Information and Technologies Center, Center for Azerbaijan's Regional Development public unions will disclose the final results of the Coalition with regards to the elections during the press conference on 16 October.

Monitoring of voters was conducted in 50 Constituency Election Commissions. Exit-poll was conducted in 488 polling stations of 57 Constituency Election Commissions.  

A total of 15 constituencies account for Baku and 42 - regions.  The total number of observers makes up 2,476.
