Results of Polls in UK for Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan Announced

UK, London, 16 October / corr. Trend G.Ahmedova/ A candidate of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, Ilham Aliyev, gained the majority votes in the 15 October presidential elections in Azerbaijan during the polls at the polling station created at the country's embassy in UK. Thus, 173 of 200 officially registered electors participated in voting. As result of poll, 95% voted for the current president Ilham Aliyev. Three electors gave their votes to other candidates. Seven candidates participated in the 15 October presidential elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
