Azerbaijan, Baku, October 24 /corr Trend A.Huseynbala / The chairman of opposition Azerbaijan Democratic Party said that a suggestion was made to create a wide union of opposition before the presidential election, but Isa Gambar, head of Musavat Party, did not agree.

"I told the chairman of Musavat at the meeting that it will be difficult to create union of opposition after the presidential elections. We have already entered this stage. Illness of ambitions and initiatives appeared again," Sardar Jalaloglu, chairman of opposition Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) told Trend .

ADP chairman said that the suggestion on creation of union with the participation of seven or eight key opposition parties was made during the discussions.

"In fact, an agreement was reached on establishment of the union during the negotiations with Lala Shovket, leader of National Unity Movement, and Mirmahmud Miralioglu, chairman of Classic Popular Front party.  And the head of Musavat, having met with Ali Kerimli, chairman of Popular Front party, offered to finish these issues. However, when we prepare for the next meeting, it became clear that they changed their decision," ADP chairman said.

Currently, establishing the union should be next goals.

"Elections finished, all expressed their attitude and presently, when we entered the new stage, various claims are put forward," Jalaloglu said.

Opportunities of true unification of Azerbaijani opposition are not exhausted yet, Jalaloglu said.

The chairman of ADP believes that the forces, wishing to join, should take mutual obligations and define the aims of union.
