On October 24, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev
received Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek.
Cemil Cicek conveyed congratulations of Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime
Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Koksal
Toptan to Ilham Aliyev on his election as President.
He thanked President Aliyev for Azerbaijan`s supporting Turkey`s non-permanent
membership of the UN Security Council.
President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the congratulations
and asked Cemil Cicek to extend his greetings and best wishes to the Turkish
officials.
President Ilham Aliyev also described Turkey`s becoming a non-permanent member
of the UN Security Council as an important event.
