Israel, Jerusalem, 27 October /corr. Trend А.Gut/ "Peace is the key factor composing national security of the State of Israel," said Shimon Peres, President of Israel, in the opening of the winter session of the 17th Knesset on 27 October.
Being opened today, winter session will become the shortest in the history of the Knesset - after the expiration of 2 weeks, provided by Shimon Peres to form the Government of Kadima, there will begin the counting of 90 days, during which the political system must be prepared for the elections.
Peres said that today dangerous processes occur in the Middle East - Iran's armament with nuclear weapon and strengthening of radical Islamic Fundamentalist movements.
"In this difficult situation, Israel must be strong and must be capable to
win any enemy," the President of Israel stated
According to the Head of State, Israel must
reach peace with the Palestinians and Syria. Assessing the Arab initiative,
Peres stated that for the first time in the history, the Arab world was ready
to recognize the State of Israel. "Arab leaders do not want to live under
Iranian President Ahmadinejad's slogan. The Teheran regime is danger for the entire
Middle Eastern region. The Arab world wants peace with Israel, and does not see the prospect of war in the region," President of Israel said.
"The moment became the truth," stated the President of Israel.
