Demonstrators Move towards Presidential Palace in Tbilisi

Georgia, Tbilisi, 7 November / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia/ Participants of the opposition demonstration in front of the Georgian Parliament are moving towards President Saakashvili's Avlabar residency. The demonstrators involved over 5,000 people.

During two hours the demonstrators demanded resignation of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and early presidential and parliamentary elections. "Stop Russia - Stop Misha", "You're Welcome, Obama!" and other slogans were voiced during the demonstration.  

The demonstrators blocked the traffic on the Rustaveli Avenue with the assistance of police.

The protestors will submit a petition with their requirements to the Presidential Office - early presidential and parliamentary elections; liberation of political prisoners; freedom to media and return of the Imedi TV company to the family of Patarkatseshvili; improvement of the election legislation.

Then the action will end, though the organizers say such protests will be permanently held.
