President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received chairman of the Afghanistan National Assembly Mohammad Yunus Qanuni and his accompanying delegation, Azertag news agency reported.
The President stressed Azerbaijan-Afghanistan bilateral relationship is developing successfully, saying there are good opportunities for expanding cooperation in the economic, political and other fields. President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the importance of strengthening interparliamentary ties. He said he hopes Afghan delegation's visit will be an important step in boosting Azerbaijan-Afghanistan relations.
Qanuni stressed national leader Heydar Aliyev`s exceptional services in achieving progress of the Azerbaijan people. He said Azerbaijan is rapidly developing under President Ilham Aliyev`s leadership. According to Qanuni, relationship with Azerbaijan is one of priorities of Afghanistan's foreign policy. Yunus Qanuni pointed out reciprocal visits are important for expanding bilateral relations including interparliamentary cooperation between the two nations.
