600 Taliban fighters lay down arms and join peace process in Afghanistan

Afghanistan, Kabul, Dec. 13/ Trend , A. Hakimi/ Officials say that during a year 600 discontents to the government left Taliban and chose a peaceful life in western zone of the country.

They say this process will be slow if the government does not help financially.

They also say these people handed over more than 170 small and heavy weapons to the government.

Officials involved in peace and reconciliation process announced that more than 1,000 will join the process in the near future.

Based on the resources, this administration faces economical problem and is not able to pay expenses for traveling to the remote areas for peace talk with rebels.

The administration in the western provinces could attract more than one thousand discontents to lay down their arms and start peaceful life.

Mujaddedi, the head of peace program, said Taliban and Hezb-e-Islami fighters in the province of Farah will join the peace process in the next few days He called on the country's rebels to give up the fight and to stop killing innocent Afghan people.
