Web cameras will be installed during the referendum in Azerbaijan, Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov said.
"Web cameras were installed for the first time in Azerbaijan during the presidential election," he said. "We have adjusted our procedures to use the cameras for the referendum."
Web cameras were installed at 500 constituencies during the presidential election in 2008.
The head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) told Trend that Web cameras may also be used for the referendum.
A referendum to make amendments and changes in 29 articles of the Constitution will be held in Azerbaijan on March 18.
Azerbaijan's governing New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) has launched the New Azerbaijan initiative group. The opposition Musavat party has launched the Republicans initiative group.
The Azadlig bloc, For Azerbaijan Public Forum and several non-governmental organizations established the Civil Movement for Republic and Karabakh initiative groups. The Azadlig bloc composes the Popular Front Party, National Unity Movement, Citizen and Development Party, Musavat, Umid and the Democratic Party.
The Union for Democracy uniting the Classic People's Front, Azadlig and National and Democratic and Great Azerbaijan parties launched the Azerbaijan People's Republic initiative group.
NAP Deputy Executive Secretary Mubariz Gurbanli told Trend earlier that the opposition initiative groups will be ineffective.
The Constitution was adopted in 1995. Amendments and additions were made in 2002.
