Georgian Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II will leave for Germany for checkup on Feb. 4, David Sharashenidze, official spokesman for Georgian patriarchate, said on Feb. 3.
"Patriarch's health improves. There are no reasons for anxiety. But after consultations of Georgian and German doctors a decision was made to examine Patriarch in Germany," he said.
Ilia II will be examined in the Munich Clinic, Sharashenidze said. "I firmly state that all rumors on Patriarch's worsening state aren't true," he said.
