Azerbaijani pro-governmental parties will be restored.
"We plan to hold a restoration meeting in March," a member of the initiative group to restore the Great Nation party Samir Adigozalli said to Trend .
The Opposition Great Nation Party (GNP), founded in 1999, amalgamated with Azerbaijan Democratic World Party on September 23, 2008.After the presidential election in October 2008, former chairman and members of the party resigned and made a decision to restore the GNP.
Adigozalli said he would not nominate his
candidacy for the post of chairman at the restoration meeting. "Despite the
fact that I was formerly chairman of the party, now I do not claim for the
post. I hope that a man who could become one of the leading political forces in
Azerbaijan will be elected to the chairman post," said the former chairman of
GNP.
According to him, to recover the meeting is also planned to amend the Charter.
"Group of persons that has resigned from the Party of Democratic Peace of
Azerbaijan after the presidential elections last year, is also actively
involved in the restoration of the GNP," said Adigozalli.
