The withdrawal of the U.S. military base from the Kyrgyz Manas airport will not influence on the trade and economic relations between the countries, Kyrgyz PM Igor Chudinov said at a press conference in Bishkek.
On Feb. 3 Kyrgyzstan divulged its decision on closing the American military base in Manas. The statement was made by Kyrgyz President Kurbanbek Bakiyev at the press conference dedicated to the results of talks in Moscow.
The U.S. base opened near the Manas international airport in December 2001. The base was opened by an UN mandate to support coalition forces conducting anti-terrorist operations in Afghanistan.
Chudinov said that his country would not review the current economic situation with the U.S. and would always ready to sign active and profitable contacts with the Americans.
"Our relations delay. At present, there is neither transoceanic investment in Kyrgyzstan, there is few trade balance between the countries and joint investment projects," Chudinov added.
