Former head of the Georgian Governmental Office Kakha Bendukidze does not intend to join the opposition, he told journalists earlier today.
Bendukidze was dismissed from his post late last week after Nika Gilauri became prime minister.
"The government approved my economic stabilization program and new Prime Minister Nika Gilauri intends to implement it. This is important because I am working for the state," Bendukidze said.
He noted that he will continue to work with the government as an advisor.
Earlier Gilauri announced Bendukidze's dismissal.
The prime minister said he hoped to appoint another individual to the post.
Gilauri stressed that he intends to consider Bendukidze's advice as an experienced economist.
