Former head of the Georgian Governmental Office Kakha Bendukidze will not work as an adviser for Prime Minister Niki Gilauri.

"I intend to resign. I will not be an adviser to the PM. I have other plans," Bendukidze told Trend .

The Georgian government accepted Bendukidze's resignation on Feb. 7. He served as vice prime minister in 2005 and supervised economic reforms. He led the Georgian Governmental Office since January 2008.

"I left my business dealings in Russia long ago. Now my plans are to settle in Tbilisi and live here once and for all," Bendukidze said.

Bendukidze added that he will not join the opposition.

"Show me an opposition figure who took care of the country more than the government. Such figures do not exist. I read the program of opposition figure and former PM Zurab Nogaideli. It is part of our governmental program which has been fulfilled or being fulfilled or will be fulfilled," he said.
