Three Moscow residents were arrested on suspicion of murdering Kazakh citizen and student at the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas Yerlan Aitymov, the Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry's official representative Yerzhan Ashikbaev said.
Investigative procedures proved the detainees were involved in the murder.
A criminal case was filed and an investigation is underway.
Ashikbaev's body was found with knife wounds to his stomach in southwestern Moscow on Dec. 14.
