Georgia businessmen to assist monarchy

Renowned Georgian businessmen expressed their desire to support the Monarchy Fund, including Center Point Founder Maya Rceulishvili and Kazbegi President Gogi Topdze.

The fund was launched with the blessing of Georgian Patriarch Ilias II.

Rceulishvili said his family would help the monarchs.

Ilias II decided to establish the fund after his trip to Germany.

The wedding ceremony between David Bagrationi-Mukhranskiy and Anna Bagrationi-Georgian was held at Saint Trinity's Patriarchal Cathedral on Feb. 8.

Many guests attended the ceremony, including 120 foreigners.

Senior Priest at Saint Trinity Church Ilia said rumors about restoring the monarchy are false.

The fund was founded with the blessing of the patriarch, he said.

Almost half of all respondents support the idea of restoring the monarchy in Georgia.
