Turkey occupies an important place in the region, said U.S. President Barack Obama in a telephone conversation with President of Turkey Abdullah Gul on Monday, Turkish site Ihlas Heber Ajansi reported.
Obama, being the iniciative of the phone talk, said that he attached great importance to relations between the U.S. and Turkey. The two Presidents discussed the regional and international issues.
Then a telephone conversation between Barack Obama and Prime Minister of Turkey Radzhab Tayyib Erdogan.
Obama said that Turkey played an important role in its region for achieving peace. "I attach great importance to this. America needs to show concern for Turkey", said Obama.
Obama has expressed willingness to continue to work with Turkey against Kurd terrorists, as well as the question of cooperation with Armenia.
