Democratic Movement-United Georgia leader and former Parliamentary Speaker Nino Burjanadze urged the public to "make the right decision as the crisis that appeared after the August events is deepening" in a message.

"Much depends on regular people making the right decisions. Direct democracy has certain risks. We call on all specialists, professionals, experts and civil servants not to engage in the government's dirty requests and to serve the people - not President [Mikheil] Saakashvili's personal ambitions," the message said.

Burjanadze called on politicians to follow her example and "keep away from the criminal government."

"Keep away from the government so as not to become involved in a reckless scheme against the people and country. Your resignation will contribute to security and peace," the message said.

"The government will resign soon. Let a new and truly democratic government be the starting point for our country's recovery," the message said.
