Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb. 24 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /
Head of the Parliamentary European Integration Committee David Darchiashvili discussed details of the statements adopted by Georgia- EU Cooperation Committee at the briefing on Feb. 24.
This statement unambiguously demonstrates attitude of the EU Parliament towards Georgian events, MP said.
The statement reflects August events and condemns both recognition of independence of Georgian regions by Russia and occupation of these territories.
By this statement the European Parliament completely supports the new initiative of the Eastern Partnership, Darchiashvili said.
MP reminded about progress achieved in the issue regarding visa regime with European countries and prospective for Georgia to assume status of associated EU member during Czechia's chairmanship.
