Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 27 / Trend , A.Huseyinbala/
The cooperation between political parties after the referendum depends on sincere intentions, Azerbaijani opposition leader said.
"The cooperation for unity of opposition must develop on the basis of sincere intentions," National Unity Movement (NUM) Leader Lala Shovkat told Trend on Feb. 27.
The agitation campaign on referendum was launched in Azerbaijan on Feb. 18 and will be completed on March 16.
Azerbaijan will hold a referendum on March 18. The Constitution was adopted in 1995. Amendments and additions were made in 2002.
Opposition parties may unite for a common purpose aftermath of referendum, Shovkat said.
"Opposition parties must be frank to each other. Leaders' principality is also very relevant," Shovkat added.
Human quality plays an important role. "I support the cooperation among opposition parties after the referendum," Shovkat noted.
"I do not believe that any serious change will be observed in relations between opposition parties," political scientist Zardusht Alizade told Trend .
The long-year experience shows that opposition parties will fail to unite. "The current unification of opposition parties has a temporary character. Most of opposition leaders cannot give up their own ambitions," Alizade said.
