Azerbaijan, Baku, March 11 / Trend , A. Huseynbala/

Azerbaijani opposition could not put forward a unified position in the referendum campaign like presidential election.

"Leaders' ambitions prevent the opposition from uniting. They do not accept each-other. I do not agree with my party's arguments for failure of the opposition's unification," the opposition Classic Popular Front Party Supreme Assembly Head Zalimkhan Mammadli told Trend .

The Musavat and Azerbaijan Popular Front Party have designed a number of projects on opposition's future cooperation. The Musavat and Azerbaijan Popular Front Party are members of the Center for Opposition Cooperation which does not recognize the 2008 presidential election result.

The opposition talks to establish larger opposition coalition has failed due to mutual accusation.

Center for Opposition Cooperation includes Azadlig bloc (Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Liberal Party, Citizens and Development Party), Musavat Party and Public Forum for Azerbaijan.

Mammadli said though opposition says "we are ready to do our utmost to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict" they can not act together.

He said opposition forces can not act together as they have hostile attitude to each-other. "It shows the poor situation in our political arena," Mammadli said.

The union of at least 10 opposition leaders will be able to solve serious public problems, he said. "I think personal interests got better of national values. Leaders of Azerbaijani opposition parties fight with each-other."

The leaders are to be blamed for the opposition's failure to struggle together. "I do not believe the opposition will be able to cooperate after the referendum," he added.

The CPFP was launched in March 2006. Earlier, it pretended to the name of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan and was known as PFPA "Classics". Mirmahmud Miralioglu, a former assistant to Azerbaijani ex-president Abulfaz Elchibay, became chairman of the "Classics" split collapse of the party in 2000. A new name - the CPFPA was adopted in 2006.
