Agdam residents most active voters in referendum

The most active polling station is No. 118 in Agdam. Voter turnout was as high as 27.09 percent by 10:00 local time, the Central Election Commission (CEC) Election Informational Center reported.

Low voter activity has been observed in Baku. A total of 8.55 percent of electorates voted at the Sabunchu District Constituency No. 26, 8.93 percent at the Surakhani District Constituency No. 31, 9.22 percent at the Narimanov District Constituency No. 19 and 9.33 percent at the Narimanov District Constituency No. 20. Some 9.33 percent of electorates voted at the Khatai District Constituency No. 35.

There are 125 constituencies and 5,367 polling stations with 4,893,382 voters in the country.

Azerbaijan is holding a referendum on March 18 to amend the Constitution.

The referendum campaign began on Feb. 18 and finished on March 16 at midnight. A total of 23,000 manat was allocated to every agitation group for campaign.

The Azerbaijani Constitution was adopted in 1995. Amendments and additions were made in 2002.
