Georgian defense ministry discusses importance of NATO exercises

The Ministry of Defense of Georgia discussed the importance of NATO exercises. The meeting was attended by the head of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces Devi Chankotadze, and by NATO - the head of the Madrid headquarters, the commander of the exercises, General-Lieutenant Gaetano Mirovans.

At the end of the meeting, Mirovans said the NATO exercises are very important for the countries participating in them, because they provide stability and peace. Chankotadze also stressed the importance of these exercises.

The NATO military in Vaziani will officially open on May 11. Some 15 members of the alliance will attend the exercises. The first stage aims to improve the headquarters governance. Combat exercises will begin at the second stage. The exercise will end on June 3.
