Patriarch of all Georgia heads for France

Georgia, Tbilisi, May 12 / Trend , N. Kirtskhalia/ Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgian Ilia II left for France on May 12 to attend opening of a new Georgian cathedral.

The delegation includes metropolitan of Western Europe Abraham, metropolitan of Lazeti and Batumi Dmitry, chairman of Patriarchate's foreign relations department, metropolitan of Zugdidi Tsaishi Gerasim, senior bishop of Vani and Bagdati Anton, archimandrite David, archimandrite Konstantin, senior priest Georgi, junior bishop Demetre and secretary and assistant to patriarch Shorena Tetruashvili. The Georgian cathedral in France will be named after Saint Tsarina Tamar.

Father Anton will serve in the new cathedral. Cathedral's architect is Archil Mindiashvili and frescos were designed by Mamuka Mikeladze.

The delegation will meet with representatives of French authorities, French cardinal and Georgian diaspora.
